ABOUT ME

I was born on the 20th August in a place called Hampton Court. Some of you may have heard this name, this is a royal palace, south west of London, which used to belong to Henry VIII. Quite by chance my mother was moved into the palace when she was in labour awaiting my birth and this is the place I actually choose to arrive. I had a wonderful childhood spent mostly in the company of my mother and her relatives including my amazing godmother.  Writing was a real passion right from an early age. I used to write short stories at school and of course I learnt a lot about colour from my godmother. I loved to draw and from an early age, possessed boxes of crayons, pastels and paints which my grandfather gave me as he was an artist.

In 1977 I moved to the Netherlands and I now live on the islands along the south west coast. The majority of Holland is actually under sea level and very flat. One thing that I love about this area are the incredible 180 degree vistas where sea meets sky. The colors and light here is quite exceptional.

Every morning I awaken to the sounds of seagulls across the sea and this is actually the most sunny county in Holland. The air is filled with a silty salty smell. I live literally about 100 meters from the local beach.

Words are a true passion and I look forward to sharing more with you.
